These plates are manufactured from 100% naturally shed sheaths of the Areca Catechu palm. No synthetic binders, plastic coatings or added chemicals are used during production. The raw material is cleaned using water before being heat pressed at 180°C to form a rigid square plate with a deep serving profile.
The plates have a material thickness of 1.5 to 2.5 mm, depending on the natural characteristics of the palm sheath. They feature smooth polished edges, heat-pressed reinforcement ribs and a flat nesting design that supports efficient packing and handling. The natural surface retains minimal grain variation across approximately 10 to 15% of the plate area, while maintaining zero tolerance for cracks and edge damage.
The deep-profile construction provides additional support for serving meals containing curries, gravies, pasta, rice dishes and other liquid-rich foods. The firm structure helps maintain the plate's shape during normal food-service use.
The plates are resistant to oil and moisture and can hold liquids for 6 to 8 hours under normal serving conditions. They are suitable for temperatures ranging from -20°C to 120°C.
The plates are compatible with microwave heating for up to 2 minutes at high power and can be used in ovens at temperatures up to 200°C for a maximum of 45 minutes.
